But after 6 days 8 men fell sick
20 men worked 8 days to complete 160 man-days;
600 - 160 = 440 man-days needed to complete the job

12 men to complete 440 man days:: 440/12 = 36 2/3 days

How long they will take to complete the repairing work?

1. 20*30 = 600 men-days.
2. 20*6 = 120 men-days
3. 600 - 120 = 480 men-days.
4. 20 - 8 = 12 men remained.
5. = 40 days.
Answer. It will take 6 + 40 = 46 days to complete the job, counting from the very fist day.
