Question 1003498: arthur does a job in 30 minutes, bonnie does the same job in 40 minutes, and claudia did it in 60 minutes. how long will it take them to do the job together?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The set up looks like this:
t/30 + t/40 + t/60 = 1 (the 1 is for one job)
Multiply everything by 120 and get
4t + 3t + 2t = 120
9t = 120
t = 120/9 = 40/3 minutes or 13 1/3 minutes
