Question 314840: Please help I do not understand how to do this....
find the average weight in pounds of a type of bird of your choice. Use the rational exponent equation L = 2.43 * W^0.3326 to estimate the wingspan L in feet of the bird that weighs W pounds (Rockswold, 2006). Include in your post the type of bird and the average weight and show the calculations necessary to find the approximate wingspan. The formula is not accurate for flightless birds, and is only a model used to estimate the wingspan of others.
In case conversions are necessary, 16 oz is 1 pound; 1 kg = 2.2 pounds; 1000g = 1 kg. For the formula about wingspan to be accurate, you must use the bird’s weight in pounds.

Question 316225: I am practicing for an algebra college exam. The question asks me to divide and simplify this expression:
1 2
(((a^3 b^4)/(6 b^3))^.5)/(((a^3)/(24 a^2 b))^.5)
I understand that anything to the .5 is the same as square root. And I believe that the first part will be:
(((a^3 b)/(6))^.5) with the second part being:
(((a)/(24 b))^.5)
The problem I am having is simplifying it with the division between the two sides. I know I need to flip the second part; but I am confused as to how to do this with the radical. The answer is supposed to be 2ab , but I do not know how to get there. If you could help me, it would be much appreciated.

Question 316454: 1. y = 2sqrt(x + 3) by graphing 5 points. Use the endpoint of the function as your first point.
y = 2 sqrt (x) + 3
x = 0, y = 2sqrt(0) + 3 = 3
x = 1, y = 2sqrt(1) + 3 = 5
x = 9, y = 2sqrt(9) + 3 = 9
x = 16, y = 2sqrt(16) + 3 = 11
x = 25, y = 2sqrt(25) + 3 = 13
How do I find out what the endpoint is exactly ?

Question 316390: If the average radius of the orbit of Venus is 0.723 AU, then how many years does it tale for Venus to complete one orbit of the sun? Use the following information to solve.
According to Kepler's third law of planetary motion, the ratio T^2 over R^3 has the same value for every planet in our solar system. R is the average radius of the orbit of the planet measured in astronomical units (AU), and T is the number of years it takes for one compete orbit of the sun. Jupiter orbits the sun in 11.86 years with an average radius of 5.2 AU, whereas Saturn orbits the sun in 29.46 years.
