Question 179343: Can you please help me solve this radical equaqtion?
This problem did not come from a text book, it came from a worksheet.
I began by isolating the radical:
Then I squared each side to eliminate the radical:
Which gave me:
Then I moved everything to one side to give me a quadradtic equation:

This is where I got stuck, I don't see how this can be factored, so I tried using the quadratic equation and just got confused from there. Can you help me please??!!???

Question 179954: 4. A container with curved sides is 10 ft tall. When water is in the container to a depth of h ft, the number of cubic feet of water can be approximated by using the formula V = 0.95h2.9. Find the amount of water in the container when the depth of the water is 7.5 ft. Round to the nearest hundredth.

Question 179993This question is from textbook Algebra 2
: I hope this is easy for you! I think I have it right, but I'm not positive.
I need to simply this radical expression:
-(negative)(sq.root of:625y(squared)z(to the fourth power))
So far, I have taken the square root of 625 (25) and put that outside the radical.
-(negative)25(sq.root of:y(squared)z(to the fourth power))
Next, I made y2 into y and put it outside the radical and did the same with z
-(negative)25yz(squared)
Next, I learned that since the exponent on "y" (which is 1) is odd, and the index of the radical is 2, since its a square root, I need to place absolute value signs around the "y".
-(negative)25/y/z(squared)
Is this correct?
Thank you. This question is from textbook Algebra 2

Question 180321: Hello, can you please help me with this Algebra II problem?
I don't know if I should factor it or find a way to simplify
x+3^√x-12 =0 I think i have to factor.
hears a practice problem our teacher gave us. x+2√x-3 =0
(√x+3)(√x-1)
√x+3=0 √x-1=0
2^(√x=-3) (√x=1)
x=-3 x=1
