Question 75144: I have to do a project on radicals and square roots. Part of our extremely confusing assignment is to show our radical "disguised" as an imaginary number, both simplified and unsimplified. I have looked up imaginary numbers and though I understand the definition (sort of) I don't understand at ALL how this translates to my radical. My radical is [the square root of] 6875. Would you please help me?

Question 75178This question is from textbook Intermediate algebra
: I am so confused by this problem that I do not even know where to start, could someone please help me, equations involving radicals are new to me and I have a test Friday.
Perform the indicated operations:
3 squared [48] + 7 squared [12] - squared symbol [75]
where the words "squared and squared symbol" are written there is a checkmark looking symbol. Hopefully someone understands this.

Question 75143: I am getting confused on this algebra problem. The directions are to simplify the radical and to assume that all variables represent positive real numbers.
I think I got the wrong answer when I tried to work it.
3 is the index of the radical and underneath the radical is 54a to the 5th power, c to the 7th power, and e to the 9th power.
Thanks for the help

Question 75897: Ok so this is an algebra 2 question, but i couldnt find anything about roots in the algebra 2 section so i figured i would ask it here. I am not exactly sure how to type a square root on a computer so substiture the divisiont mark (/) as a square root symbol, but here goes:
/-6 x /-15 when i asked my teacher she told me to start out by changing it to:
i/6 x i/15 but i am stumped after this part. Sorry if my question is somewhat confusing because i cant type a square root but thx for this wonderful site and all your help i would probably be failing if it wasnt for you guys.
