Question 979808: (24x^3y^4)^1/2 + (54xy^2)^1/2 =
Assuming x and y are positive real numbers

2 sqrt (6) x^(3/2)y^2 + 3 sqrt (6) x^(1/2) y. One takes the square root of each part, the number and each variable. sqrt (24)=sqrt(4)*sqrt (6); sqrt (54)=sqrt (9)*sqrt(6) or 3sqrt(6)
Factor out x^(1/2)y [sqrt(6)]

x^(1/2) y sqrt(6) {2 xy+3}
