Start with the given expression
Multiply the fraction by (which is a form of 1). This will rationalize the denominator.
Combine the fractions
Foil the numerator and the denominator
Notice the root terms cancel in the denominator. Now the denominator is completely rational.
Multiply to get
Combine like terms
