Question 919233: Hello,
Transpose these equations to make the defined variable the subject of the formula:
A) T= 3π √(W/gx) make [x] the subject
B) D/x = √(f+p/f-p) make [f] the subject

I am getting problems transposing these, can you show me the working also please.
Thanks very much

You are supposed to undo what was done to the variable wanted and must do the same to both sides of the equation to maintain equality.

NOTE: THE SITE IS NOT RENDERING PROPERLY ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE OF ORDER OF OPERATIONS, AND BECAUSE OF IT, SOME OF THE STEPS BELOW APPEAR WRONG!

, if meant exactly as given, then the x is NOT part of a denominator, but maybe this was not written correctly.

Multiplicative Inverse of ,
;
Raise both sides to the 2 power, ;
The division on the right is done before the multiplication according to operator precedence, so the x must be understood part of a numerator.

Multiplicative Inverse of ,
, but you can simplify this in any manner wanted.

------ Dividing both sides by
----- Squaring both sides

------- Cross-multiplying

Use the same concept to solve the 2nd equation for the variable.
