Just as 

5 apples + 4 more apples = a total of 9 apples,

and

5 pencils + 4 more pencils = a total of 9 pencils,

it is similarly true that

5 square roots of 6x + 4 more square roots of 6x =
           a total of 9 square roots of 6x.

So

5Ö6x + 4Ö6x = 9Ö6x
