I'm not sure what you mean by the "even root property". Perhaps it is what I would call taking the square root of both sides of the equation.


(Note: the 0 is not necessary, except that in algebra.com, I have to put the 0 in order to make the equation work properly.)

Next, add +5 to each side of the equation:
