Question 83300: am so behind in my math homework. I need help.

The volume of a cylinder (think about the volume of a can) is given by V = pie symbol r squared h where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is the height of the cylinder. Suppose the volume of the can is 100 cubic centimeters.

Write h as a function of r. Keep pie sign in the function’s equation.

What is the measurement of the height if the radius of the cylinder is 2 centimeters? Round your answers to the nearest whole number.

Graph this function.

Given V = Pi r^2 h
Also V = 100
==> Pir^2h = 100
==> h = 100/(Pi r^2)
This is the expression for h as a function of r.
If r = 2, then r^2 = 4
Then h = 100/4Pi
= 100/4*3.14
= 7.96
Thus the ht of the cylinder is 8 cm when the radius is 2 cm
