I need help solving the equation algebraically:
1/(x+8) + 1/(x+5) = 1/2
LCD:2(x+8)(x+5)
2(x+5)+2(x+8)=(x+5)(x+8)
2x+10+2x+16=x^2+13x+40
4x+26=x^2+13x+40
x^2+9x+14=0
(x+7)(x+2)=0
x=-7
or
x=-2
