You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is(√x)^2=x an identity (true for all nonnegative values of x)?
---------
Examples don't prove anything but they help to understand.
If x is nonnegative like 8,
[sqrt(8)]^2= [2sqrt2]^2=8
--------------
If x is negative like -8
[sqrt(-8)]^2 = [2isqrt2]^2=[(i^2)8]=-8
------------------
What do you think?
