They want you to substitute 3 for "x"; then simplify.

G(3) = sqrt(3+5) + sqrt(5*3+3)
---
= sqrt(8) + sqrt(18)

= 2*sqrt(2) + 3*sqrt(2)
----
= 5*sqrt(2)
