Question 602832: Can you please help me to solve this? Expand Expand (√c + √d)^2 and simplify. Assume c ≤ 0 and d ≥ 0.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Expand (√c + √d)^2
-------------
(sqrt(c) + sqrt(d)(sqrt(c) + sqrt(d))
Use FOIL
F: sqrt(c)*sqrt(c) = c
O: sqrt(c)*sqrt(d) = sqrt(cd)
I: sqrt(d)*sqrt(c) = sqrt(cd)
L: sqrt(d)*sqrt(d) = d
----
Ans: c + d + 2sqrt(cd)
