Question 59942: 10. Simplify Last question. I forgotten the next step for the question.
2(rs)12 +4(rs)27 then it's
2 (rs)6 (rs)2 + 4(rs)9 (rs) 3
What is my next step. Do I find the perfect squares of 4 and 9 or just the nine. I'm confusing myself again.

Answer by chitra(359)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The given expression is:

2 rs(12) + 4 rs(27)

12 and 27 can be factored as: 4 * 3 and 9 * 3

Thus, the above step can be simplified as:

2 rs( 4 * 3) + 4 rs(9 * 3)

2 rs(4) rs(3) + 4 rs(9) rs(3)

But rs(4) is 2 and rs(9) is 3.

2 * 2 rs(3) + 4 * 3 rs(3)

4 rs(3) + 12 rs(3)

We add them since they are like terms.

16 rs(3) is the solution for th given problem.
