Question 596136: I am working on this practice exercise: The book's answer is 17 sqrt30(numerator) with 30 as the denominator. I get the 17, I have the denominator of 30 but I'm not coming up with the sqrt30, part of the numerator. I know I am doing something wrong in my process and would like to know what. Find the LCD of the fractions, that's 30, and simplify:
Take the square root of both numerators.
Simplify.
Subtract.
Rationalise the denominator.
Simplify.
