Explain similarities between radicals and rational
exponent notation?

There are two ways to express a rational exponent
as a radical or vice-versa:

FIRST WAY:

xa/b = bÖ xa

SECOND WAY:

xa/b = (bÖ x )a

The second way is the best way to begin a problem.
Then after it is simplified the first way is the best
way to leave the answer.
