4*(-7) - 5*(-8) =? -4
-28 + 40 = ? -4 it's not right.

4x(x-8)-5x(x-7)=-4
16*(4-8) - 20*(-3) =? -4
-64 + 60 = -4

4 is right, -1 is not

4x^2-32x-5x^2+35x=-4
-x^2-32x+35x=-4
-x^2+3x=-4
-x^2+3x+4=0
x^2-3x-4=0
(x-4)(x+1) = 0
x = {-1, 5}
.
