the v is a square root symbol, and the 3 is suppose to be in the indentation of the root, not directly to the side. Would the answer be that the root is not a real number? I thought if there is a negative inside the root, that is the answer, but I do not know

3 * square root (-1) would be an imaginary number.
square root of a negative number will not give you a real number.
