Question 467337: Please help me solve this problem!
radical 2 + radical 6 divided by radical 8 + radical 6

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
radical 2 + radical 6 divided by radical 8 + radical 6
-----------
[sqrt(2)+sqrt(6)]/[sqrt(8)+sqrt(6)]
---
Multiply numerator and denominator by sqrt(8)-sqrt(6)]
----
= [sqrt(2)+sqrt(6)] / (8-6)
----
= [sqrt(16)-sqrt(12)+sqrt(48)+sqrt(36)]/2
----
= [4 + 6 - 2sqrt(3) + 4sqrt(3)]/2
---------
= [10+2sqrt(3)]/2
----
= [5 + sqrt(3]
