Question 439380: I need help with solving a radical eguation including a root:

sqrt(x)-1=sqrt(5+sqrt(x))
Thank you!

Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt(x)-1=sqrt(5+sqrt(x))
x-2sqrt(x)+1=5+sqrt(x) square each side.
x-4=3sqrt(x)
x^2-8x+16=9x square each side
x^2-17x+16=0
(x-16)(x-1)=0
x=16
