Question 43341: I have to find the indicated root or state that the expression is not a real number. Can you please tell me if I'm right?
The problem is:
-4th root Sqrt81
I can't find anywhere that it says if the root number is negative whether or not it is a real number. If I multiply negative 3 out 4 times I get 81. Please help!

Are you looking for the four 4th roots of 81?
or are you looking for the four 4th roots of sqrt(81)?
What you say about 3^4 being 81 is correct but it is
hard to tell from your posting exactly what problem you
are trying to solve.
