Have answer, but it doesnt show the step by step procedure for how the book arrived at the following answer: 34 radical sign 2 + 25 radical sign 3.

Just add the side lengths. You will have to simplify the radicals though:

(I just factored out the largest square divisor out of each radical)

Collect like terms to obtain the perimeter, .
