As the problem says, only like radicals can be added or subtracted. Like radicals have the same index and the same radicand. (The expression inside a radical is called the radicand.)

Your radicals have the same indices ("indexes"), 3, and the same radicand, 6. So we can subtract them.

Now that we know that we can subtract we have to know how to subtract these terms. It can help to picture the radicals as a variable because subtractions (or additions) with variables is just like subration (or addition) with radical terms.
So exactly like 7x - 2x = 5x...
