Here we rationalize the denominator by mutiplying top and bottom by sqrt(x) and get
(7 / (2 sqrt(x))) - 5 =
(7*sqrt(x) / (2 sqrt(x))*sqrt(x)) - 5 =
(7*sqrt(x) / (2x)) - 5 =
Now we combine the fraction with the 5...
(7*sqrt(x) / (2x)) - 10x/2x =
(7*sqrt(x) - 10x) / 2x
and we're done.
