2x^2+10x+k=0 when x = -2

 2(-2)^2 + 10*(-2) + k = 0

    8 - 20 + k = 0

            k = 12



2x^2+10x+12=0

2(x^2 + 5x + 6) = 0

(x^2 + 5x + 6) = 0

factoring

( x+2)(x+ 3)= 0 Note:SUM of the inner product(2x) and the outer product(3x) = 5x

( x+2)= 0

    x = -2  Already determined

(x+ 3)= 0

    x = -3, the other root
