Question 387467: Can you help me solve this?
sr = square root
sr x + 12 = x
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sr x + 12 = x
----
sqrt(x) + 12 = x
------
Rearrange:
x + sqrt(x) + 12 = 0
---
Factor:
(sqrt(x)+4)(sqrt(x)-3) = 0
----
sqrt(x) = 4 or sqrt(x) = 3
---
x = 16 or x = 9
