Question 376350: Problem: sqrt(x+3) - sqrt(x+1) = 3
I've worked the problem by adding sqrt(x+1) to both sides. Now problem is sqrt(x+3)= 3 + sqrt(x+1). I then squared both sides and continued to work the problem. I ended up with x = 13/16. I then entered 13/16 into the original equation and came up with "no solution" because 2/3 does not equal 3!
