Question 36205: I got this far.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt 4x+1=2x-1
Square both sides to get:
4x+1 = 4x^2-4x+1
4x^2-8x=0
4x(x-2)=0
4x=0 or x-2=0
x=0 or x=2
Check these answers in the original equation.
x=0 is extraneous.
x=2 is valid.
