I need help factoring, how do I do this problem?
15y^2+7y-2
---
Think of two numbers whose product is -2*15 = -30
and whose sum is 7
----
The numbers are + 10 and -3
----
Rewrite the problem:
15y^2 + 10y-3y -2
----
Factor the 1st two and the last two terms separately:
5y(3y+2)-(3y+2)
----
Factor again to get:
(3y+2)(5y-1)
