first you must add to both sides.
Square both sides to get rid of the root on the left
the root and the square on the left cancel each other out
FOIL the right side

Combine terms
subtrace 2x and 5 from both sides to isolate the root.
divide both sides by 6
square both sides to get rid of the radicand
add 4 to both sides
divide by 2 on both sides
CHECK YOUR SOLUTION
plug 2 in for x
root of 9 (assuming only positive roots) is 3, root of 0 is 0
