This is not an equation. Equations can be solved. This expression cannot be solved.
Is it both (xy)^4 or just x*(y^4)
As it is written (xy^4)^9 or (x*(y^4))^9, it combines to x^9*y^36
((xy)^4)^9 would be x^36*y^36 or (xy)^36
