The volume of a sphere is

so 1/2 a sphere is

and the volume of a cylinder is

we know that r = 3 and h = 5, so we get

V=3.14*9*5
V=141.3 cu units

(1/2)(4/3)(pi)(3^3) = 56.55 cu. units

Area of base: (pi)3^2 = 9(pi)
