x=+- sqrt 1+72/4
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for X
2x^2+x+9=0
-----------------
a = 2 ; b = 1 ; c = 9
Using the quadratic formula you get:
x = [-1 +- sqrt(1-4*2*9)]/4
---
x = [-1 +- sqrt(-71)]/4
