Question 194061: √98x^4y^6z^2
√5/3
2√3 * 3√15

Is there anyone someone can explain simplifying radical expressions to me? my teacher of at least 6000 students doesn't have enough time.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
√98x^4y^6z^2
= sqrt(49x^4y^6z^2)*sqrt(2)
= 7x^2y^3z*sqrt(2
-----------------------
√5/3
Multiply numerator and denominator by 3 to get:
sqrt(15)/sqrt(9) =
= sqrt(15)/3
= (1/3)sqrt(15)
-----------------
2√3 * 3√15
= 6sqrt(45)
= 6 sqrt(9)*sqrt(5)
= 6*3*sqrt(5)
= 18*sqrt(5)
