Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can use what are called constants of variation
(1) ( is the constant)
(2) ( is the constant)
-------------
What if is doubled?

Compare this with (1). has been quadrupled
-------------
What if is doubled also?

Compare this with (2) has been halved
If you do both, the net result is

So, x is doubled
