Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
12/sqrt(5x + 6) = sqrt(2x + 5)
Multiply thru by sqrt(5x+6) to get:
12 = sqrt[2x+5)(5x+6)]
----
Square both sides to get:
144 = 10x^2 + 37x +30
10x^2 + 37x - 114 = 0
Use the quadratic formula to get:
x = [-37 +- sqrt(5929)]/20
x = [-37 +- 77]/20
x = 2 or x = -114/20
==========================
2 is a solution; -114/20 is extraneous
