I'm not sure if I'm right, but here what I think.
sqrt (7p^2) + sqrt (8p)
I'm really having a hard time with algebra and appreciate the help!

Notice that all of the coefficients are multiples of 8! You can, therefore, factor 8's and p's
Cancel the 8p's to leave you with...
