Question 125892: Ok here's a problem I just can't figure out. I am just starting lessons On Laws of exponents:Rational exponents, I am having a heck of a time with this stuff so if someone can help please do. Here is the question asked.
P = 5(2)83/25 (83/25) is the exponent.
The Answer is 49.93.... But I jsut don't know how they figured it out. I am using a Ti-84 plus calculator.
I sure appreciate the help.

The only thing I can think of is that you may not have the parenthesis in the right spots.
Try typing in:
5 * 2 ^ ( 83 / 25 )
this reads: 5 times 2 to the parenthesis group 83/25 power
