Question 122218: this is from college algebra using radicals andrational numbers,my question is this and please show how you did it.
suppose that n =sqt root x +2 models the number of cases of an infection, in millions, of diseases x years from now.
approximately how many cases of the infection will there be 16 years from now?
IN APPROXIMATELY HOW MANY YEARS WILL THERE BE 7 MILLION CASES?
PLEASE HELP AND THANK YOU.
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt(16)+2=n
4+2=n
n=6 million
.
sqrt(x)+2=7
sqrt(x)+2-2=7-2
sqrt(x)=5
sqrt(x)^2=5^2
x=25 yrs
.
