Question 1075528: Hi,
I am working on a project and its asking me for a quadratic equation in standard form with 2 irrational solutions and the graph opens down. Can you give me an example of that?
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
SIMPLE Example...
Starting with , concave up; but you want concave downward...
, but still intersects the x-axis; you want to have NO x-axis intercepts.
Now, no more x-intercepts. Concave down. If you solve for the "solutions" when y=0, they will be two Complex numbers, neither Real numbers.
Infinitely many examples will also fit what you asked.
