4x-3=+/-9i
4x-3+9i
4x=3+9i
x=(1/4)(3+9i)
x=(1/4)(3-9i)
Longer way is to foil it out and use the quadratic formula.
16x^2-24x+9+81=0
16x^2-24x+90=0
8x^2-12x+45=0
x=(1/16)(12+/-sqrt (144-1440); sqrt (-1296)=-36i
x=(1/16)(12+36i), or (1/4)(3+9i)
x=(1/16)(12-36i) or (1/4)((3-9i)
