Question 10098: Please help. I have been posting this question for two days now and no one has responded. I am completely stuck on this one. I don't know where to begin with it. Thanks for helping 3^4x+5 = 9 Thank youAnswer by longjonsilver(2297)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!i assume you mean ? If so, then rewrite it as now take the log of both sides, but a log to base-3, since log-base3 of 3^2 is 2 etc 4x+5 = 2 4x = -3 x = -3/4 check... if x was -3/4, then the power becomes 4(-3/4) + 5 --> 2 so we end up with 3^2 = 9 which is correct. Hope this is clear? ;-) jon.
