Couldn't get a picture up, but the parabola open upward and its vertices is not at the origin. I hope this is enough info.

can you work that problem out for me? what confuses me is i had a negative twelve for the square root, and i know that square roots aren't suppose to be negative so then i multiplied each side by negative one, but then that left the x squared negative, and i don't know how to write that in paranthesis to be correct. I'm afraid i went wrong from there so can u please explain that and the whole problem to me? thanksThis question is from textbook algebra 2

I used the formula for a circle and plugged the information in, and I got F for the right answer. But choice D is confusing me and i wanted to make sure F really is correct. Thank you!

(x-0)^2+(y-3)^2=12^2
(0,-3)
r=12

I know the fomula would be (x-h)^2 / a^2 - (y-k)^2 / b^2 = 1.

x^2 + y^2 - 10x + 2y = -25
(x^2 - 10x)-(y^2 + 2y)= -25
( x^2 -10x -10) -(y^2 + 2y + 1)= -1 - 10 + 1
(x - 2)^5 -(y + 1)^2 = -10
The center is (2,-1); the radius is -2.
