Identify and describe the conic section y^2/25 - x^2/25 =1
This is an equation of a hyperbola with vertical transverse axis and with center at the origin.
Its standard form of equation:
for given conic:
a^2=25
a=5
length of vertical transverse axis=2a=10
b^2=25
b=5
length of conjugate axis=2b=10
both asymptotes go thru center and have slopes of ±a/b=±5/5=±1
