Question 860307: What is the equation of the ellipse given the foci (+/-5,0) and co-vertices (0,+/-4).
I have tried putting it in x^2/a^2+y^2/b^2=1 but I'm not sure if it's the right form, and if it is what to do next. It does not have to be graphed, thank you for your help.

The center is at (0,0) according to your foci and co-vertices. This makes identifying and , easy to do. The "b" information will go under the in your standard equation. The reason is that b is for your co-vertices. a is for your vertex (the main vertices).

The numbers, a, b, and c, are related according to ...
