Question 85834: Y=2(x-1)^2+3

Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Y=2(x-1)^2+3
Find x-intercepts.
----------
Let y= 0 and solve for x:
2(x-1)^2+3 = 0
(x-1)^2 = -3/2
Since the square equals a negative value
x-1 is a complex number (not a Real Number).
So the x-intercepts are complex.
The graph of your function does not cross the x-axis.
There are no x-intercepts.

Stan H.
