Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x)^2/9 + (y)^2/16 = 1
---------------
The semi- x axis is sqrt(9) = 3 --> 6 on the x-axis
The semi- y axis is sqrt(16) = 4 --> 8 on the y-axis
-----------
6 is minor, 8 is major
