in the sketch given i have a vertex of (0 ; -4) and one x intercept of (2 ; 0) how do i determine the parabola equation in standard form
**
Standard form of equation for parabolas: y=A(x-h)^2+k, (h,k)=coordinates of the vertex
given equation: y=A(x-0)^2-4
solve for A using coordinates of given x-intercept (2,0)
0=A(2-0)^2-4
4A=4
A=1
equation: y=x^2-4
